2017 Indiana Microbrewers Festival
By now, it is obvious that microbreweries are not a fad, and they are here to stay. Microbreweries have done well in the Indianapolis area. To celebrate their success, the Brewers of Indiana Guild started the Indiana Microbrewers Festival over 20 years ago. This year, it returns, and it will be held in Downtown Indianapolis.
For 2017, the Indiana Microbrewers Festival will be celebrating its 22nd anniversary. At the festival, each attendee that purchases an admissions ticket can drink as many three-ounce samples they would like if they do so responsibly. This year, the festival will be held on Saturday, July 29th, between 3:00pm and 7:00pm. There are over one hundred brewers and other groups that are expected to attend this year. Collectively, they will offer hundreds of different beers to try. With this many breweries in attendance, visitors may have a little trouble finding their favorites. Fortunately, the Drink Indiana Beer app will provide a map and a beer list, making it easier for guests to find their way around.
While beer is certainly the focus of the festival, there are plenty of other things planned for the festival. Bazbeaux Pizza, Punch Burger, King David Dogs and a few other vendors will have food for sale. Local businesses such as Big Red Liquors and Sand Creek Wood Shop will also be in attendance. Live music is planned for the festival as well. DJ Spikes and a couple of other musical acts will take the stage during the festival this year.
There are a couple of options for purchasing tickets. General Admission tickets purchased online are $40.00 per person. General Admission will also be sold at the door, but they will be $45.00 per person. Early Bird tickets are also available. Anyone who purchases the Early Bird ticket is granted access to the festival an hour early. Additionally, they can visit the Early Bird Exclusives Tent between 2:00pm and 3:00pm. Special beers are served in this tent. Designated drivers can purchase the Designated Drive tickets for just $10.00 online. They will also be available on the day of the festival, but they may increase in price to $15.00 per person. Designated Driver ticket purchasers are not allowed to drink, but they are provided free water and coffee.
