Neighborhood Profile Of Broad Ripple
If you're looking for a neighborhood with diverse nightlife, food, nightlife, and shopping, look no further than Broad Ripple! Once only seen as a neighborhood for partying college students, this "village" is home to so much more. Established in 1837 as an independent municipality and then annexed by the city of Indianapolis in 1922, Broad Ripple is known for its eclectic nature. Covering over 10 square miles, the neighborhood is bounded by White River on the north, Kessler Boulevard on the south, Evanston Avenue on the east, and Meridian Street on the west. This unique community continues to draw families, young couples, and professionals to its diverse housing options.
If you're into personal fitness, Broad Ripple is the spot for you! The neighborhood is home to several boutique & small fitness studios - such as The Dailey Method, Pure Barre, Fortitude Fitness, or True Fitness Wellness Center. These options are a major selling point for people living in the area. Or, if you like to take your fitness experience outside, definitely check out the nearby Monon Trail, Central Canal Towpath, or Broad Ripple Park.
Within a short drive is The Riviera Club, a social and recreational club with pools, fitness center, dining options, and activities for the kids. Two miles away is Butler University, one of the Midwest’s “Best Value Schools.” The campus is home to beautiful gardens, performing arts venues, and a working telescope and planetarium.
Broad Ripple is also home to some popular performance venues. Originally a movie theatre, The Vogue is now home to several concerts and other performances. The Monkey's Tale has a dive bar feel, but you can also experience live music and some of Indianapolis' best live drag shows in the venue. Also worth mentioning is the Brick House Dueling Piano Bar for live music.

The neighborhood boasts an abundance of shopping options. If you're looking for clothing, gifts, art, health foods, or music, there's a shop for you to walk into!
Clothing shops range from trendy women's clothing at Marigold Clothing, expert athletic shoe fittings at Runners Forum, designer bridesmaid gowns at Bella Bridesmaids, and of course, no neighborhood shopping is complete without a vintage clothing shop - Broad Ripple Vintage.
